This mother-daughter design team was born out of a love for blending traditional design elements with innovative concepts to transcend trends in design. From new builds to remodels, Ashton and Kathleen are the driving force behind the vision and process of each project they take on. Known for their timeless, yet innovative designs, Ashton and Kathleen create customized, comfortable, and functional spaces while adhering to each client’s desire for self-expression. Deeply rooted in their love for California’s architecture and lifestyle, their designs are carefully layered while maintaining accessibility that never feels overly-designed or pretentious. You can expect to always see one-of-a-kind details and a practical approach from this design duo.

Ashton Egbert

Owner & Lead Designer

Ashton first discovered her passion for interior design as an undergrad at USC (fight on!). Shortly after graduating, she realized she wanted to turn her knack for nesting into a career. She enrolled in the Interior Design and Architecture Program at UCLA where she was trained in drafting, modeling, and interior architecture. The hard work paid off and Ashton earned positions working for one of Las Vegas' top commercial design firms, as well as one of LA’s top residential design firms. Craving a new challenge and driven by the desire to freely explore her own design concepts, Ashton recruited her design mentor- mom and founded Arndt Design. Using antique finds, creative concepts, and open communication, Ashton and her team deliver unique and cozy spaces that age beautifully as your family grows.

 

Kathleen Nixon

Engineering & Construction

Where Ashton thrives creatively, Kathleen provides the technical know-how. A trained Civil Engineer from Cal State Fullerton, Kathleen brings to the team over 30 years of real estate and construction experience. Proficient in blueprints and architectural drawings, Kathleen has the creative expertise to conceptualize your vision and translate it into buildable information for architects, landscapers, general contractors, and craftsmen.
